The cost of each project is determined by the width of the tree stump and the depth of the stump in the ground. We will calculate the total area being removed and give you a price based upon the square inch. You can view our pricing page to get a better idea of your stump removal cost.

When measuring the tree stump to estimate the cost for the stump removal, it is important to estimate at the base of the stump. The cross-section of the tree is not the area that is being measured for the stump. We measure the diameter of the stump at the widest section where the base meets the ground for cost estimates. Whenever the stump is being removed, we will grind the entire diameter of the stump 13-15 inches deep and then an additional 2 feet outside of the diameter to also remove the roots. We will chase roots within 2 feet of the tree stump’s diameter. Additional root chasing will be an additional agreed-upon cost.
We use the measurement of the stump's widest diameter at the base of the stump to give estimates. (Measured in inches.)
We then multiply the diameter of the tree stump by 3.14 to find the total area of the stump removal.
The final step is to multiply the area by $2-3. The cost/square inch will be dependent upon the difficulty of the removal.
